Max Verstappen claimed the first pole position of the 2023 Formula 1 season with a dominant performance in qualifying for the Bahrain Grand Prix.
The Red Bull driver set a lap time of 1:29.708, over three tenths of a second faster than teammate Sergio Perez.
Ferrari's Charles Leclerc will start third, while Lewis Hamilton will line up fourth for Mercedes.
It was a disappointing qualifying session for Fernando Alonso, who could only manage 10th place for Aston Martin.
The Bahrain Grand Prix will take place on Sunday, March 5.
